for the silent.

Just wanted to drop a quick plug for a local organization that I am beyond excited about.

For The Silent is a phenomenal non-profit that is working to end the sex trafficking of children, both abroad and right here in the United States. It's comprised of some amazing individuals who are passionate about this cause and are doing their best to rally against a crime that is truly gut-wrenching. The stats are staggering, and even more sobering is the fact that locally (right here in Texas) there are an estimated 75,000 minors who are currently being trafficked and sexually exploited.

At a meeting this past weekend they described their newest project-
the development of what is called a "safe home,"
a secure and loving refuge that will provide aftercare and support to minors who have been removed from trafficking and prostitution. There are currently only five safe homes serving these children in the U.S., and For The Silent is striving to open the doors to one more by this time next year. Certainly this is a huge undertaking, but I am so proud to be a part of a community that is willing to support such a venture.

So, please, if you have a moment, give their website a quick look.

If you feel compelled,
please donate to their cause.
If you believe in prayer,
add them to your list.
And if you know of someone who might be interested in this information,
pass it on.
